RWE Clean Energy, LLC To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent
The Asset Scheduling Associate will work closely with internal and external sources to ensure all commercial submissions are made in accordance with ISO protocols, RWE market strategies, and PPA contractual obligations.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform power scheduling transactions for North American wind farm resource portfolio in applicable nodal markets, including ISO schedules, contractual obligations, bilateral transactions, outage schedules, and availability notifications in compliance with ISO market rules and RWE procedures.
- Utilize RWE energy scheduling tools with guidance to execute day-ahead (DA), real-time (RT), and bilateral market entries.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to confirm schedule accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Support routine shift coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Complete foundational training on NA energy market fundamentals, operational systems, and compliance procedures.
- Escalate scheduling issues or operational risks to senior team members.
- Adhere to company safety policies, operational procedures, and compliance standards.
- A bachelor’s degree preferred. Work experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 3 years in power / commodity markets with proven ability to achieve daily and assigned tasks.
- Capacity and Power market scheduling experience in the North American ISOs preferred.
- Preferred experience in CAISO markets.
- Foundational understanding of ISO market rules, RTO operations, and energy scheduling systems.
- Applies standard scheduling procedures under guidance.
- Developing proficiency in day-ahead and real-time scheduling.
- Resolves routine scheduling discrepancies.
- Escalates complex or non-standard issues to senior staff.
- Uses established tools and procedures for problem-solving.
- Works closely with internal operations teams and market operators under supervision.
- Communicates clearly when confirming or clarifying schedules.
- Work is closely monitored for accuracy and compliance.
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations.
- The employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.
