We’re looking for an Associate General Counselin Lafayette, LA to provide strategic legal support across the North American operations while driving risk mitigation and commercial value. This role will work closely with the VP of Legal and business teams to ensure legal compliance, contract strength, and business alignment.

Whatyou will do :
•Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with customers and vendors
•Advise business units and executive leaders on legal risks while supporting commercial initiatives and growth strategies
•Collaborate with the collections team using legal tools such as demand letters, promissory notes, and lien enforcement to improve cash flow
•Provide legal support for HR matters including employment contracts, relocations, non-competes, and EEOC/DFEH responses
•Work with brokers and underwriters to address insurance risks and coverage issues related to transactions
•Assist in IP management (trademarks and patents), cease and desist enforcement, and monitor evolving legal and regulatory requirements
•Manage relationships with external legal counsel, oversee litigation matters, and audit legal invoices and claims
•Deliver internal training on ethics, anti-bribery, and commercial law; contribute to the development and implementation of risk management policies
We are experts, which means you will have the following skills and experience:
•Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
•Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferably LA or Tx
•5+ years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in an in-house legal department
•Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
