The Associate Fuel Sales Representative plays a key support role within the Guttman Energy commercial fuel team, contributing to fuel volume growth through strategic marketing and operational execution. This role is responsible for actively marketing fuel volumes in alignment with the company’s commercial fuel strategy, while managing administrative and analytical tasks including reporting, invoice processing, and CRM coordination.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline by self-generating leads through various channels, including existing relationships, social media, cold calling, and participation in industry events and trade shows.
- Develop and convert sales prospects into commercial fuel customers at Guttman Energy locations.
- Craft and communicate a compelling, personalized value proposition for Guttman’s commercial fuel sites during sales calls and meetings.
- Support and maintain existing customer contracts and discount programs, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Document all prospect and customer interactions and regularly report on sales activities and progress.
- Cross-train and assist with administrative responsibilities, including commercial site setup, invoice processing, monthly reporting, and related tasks.
- Provide post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Collaborate with commercial and supply to analyze sales profitability and adjust pricing to optimize profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field or equivalent work-related experience.
- At least two years of experience in sales or sales support role, preferably in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities through proactive engagement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including cold-calling, networking, and in-person engagement, exhibiting clear and professional verbal communication with a positive and energetic attitude.
- Problem-solving and negotiating skills, with a focus on active listening and responsiveness.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships with internal teams and external customers.
- Must be self-motivated, and possess time management, prioritization and situational awareness, with the ability to understand and communicate Guttman Energy’s value proposition.
- Eagerness to grow in a competitive sales environment and develop new business opportunities, with an aptitude for creative thinking and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Dynamics (CRM).
- A significant amount of travel (25%) including overnight stays may be required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the physical ability to drive a vehicle for job-related travel.
