Citizens Electric Corporation is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Assistant District Superintendent to support the daily operations and maintenance of our Central District electrical system. This leadership role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable service to our members while fostering a positive and productive work environment for district personnel.
- Assist the District Superintendent in overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and safety compliance.
- Supervise and assign district transmission and distribution work, including support for substation operations.
- Manage materials, fleet maintenance, and equipment logistics.
- Coordinate with the Forestry Manager on ROW clearing schedules.
- Respond to member inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care.
- Review and approve timesheets, work orders, and operational reports.
- Ensure employee training, development, and performance management.
- Participate in safety investigations and promote a strong safety culture.
- Participate in on-call duty rotation and emergency response.
- Oversee fleet maintenance contractors across all three districts.
- Assist with new fleet purchases, onboarding, and factory acceptance reviews.
- Experience: 5–7 years in electric utility operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Education: High school diploma required; college coursework in electrical technology and leadership training preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of distribution/transmission systems, RUS standards, field staking, employment law, and safety compliance.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, scheduling, coaching, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in math and computer applications is essential.
- Certifications: MSHA certification required annually; must be able to learn and apply NERC Transmission Operator standards.
- Office and field work required.
- 24/7 emergency response required.
- Must reside within 30 minutes of the Central District office.
