Under the direction of the Chief Accounting Officer, the Assistant Corporate Controller position will help management effectively meet challenges by providing timely and reliable financial statements and analyses that allow management to properly measure and assess operating results, align capital with priorities and make appropriate business decisions.
- Serve as one of the Company’s primary accounting leaders, oversee all accounting policies and procedures, and ensure an effective internal control environment
- Lead and build effective teams within the corporate accounting and revenue functions
- Oversee monthly close process and coordinate with the global controllership team and segments
- Oversee the preparation and reporting of financial statements both internally and externally, including all SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Section 16, and 11-K.)
- Provide technical accounting support on new and complex transactions and work cross-functionally to advise on accounting implications to drive business decisions
- Assist in preparing and/or updating the Company's financial and accounting policies as needed and assist the Company in the application and adherence to the policies
- Lead accounting for complex areas such as stock and incentive compensation, pension plan accounting, derivatives, goodwill, leasing and revenue recognition
- Serve as a key liaison to internal audit and Ernst & Young.
- Utilize SAP, One Stream Consolidation, Workiva, Lease Query, and other technology solutions to promote efficiencies within the accounting function
- Assist in preparing and presenting materials for Audit Committee meetings
- Develop and monitor procedures to insure timely and effective processing of financial information
- Support the annual budget preparation and monthly financial forecast process
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy, leading initiatives to automate and streamline financial reporting and accounting operations
- Oversee the internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) program to ensure SOX compliance. Continually look for opportunities to drive compliance cost reduction
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate SOX testing and remediation of any identified deficiencies
- Ensure that control owners maintain documentation of internal controls and update them regularly to reflect changes in processes or regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to the accounting team and other departments on SOX compliance and internal control best practices
- Provide financial oversight on significant contracts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and company policies, while collaborating with legal, sales, and procurement teams to assess financial impacts and negotiate favorable terms
- Support the identification of financial risks and development of mitigation strategies, implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets, and participate in the ERM program and governance committees as needed for effective risk oversight and decision-making

- The position requires an undergraduate degree in accounting from an accredited university
- A minimum of twelve years of relevant experience
- A graduate degree or post-graduate studies in finance or business and/or a CPA or other relevant certification is preferred
- The Assistant Corporate Controller must possess the ability, developed through education and experience, to support the profitable growth of the Company in a manner consistent with the Company’s objectives
- The Assistant Corporate Controller must think and act in a highly ethical manner consistent with the Company’s Code of Conduct and other ethics policies
- The Assistant Corporate Controller must possess strong oral and written communication skills in order to successfully support management and to manage, motivate and develop his or her direct reports
- The position is a problem solver; as such, he or she must possess strong analytical skills, the willingness to embrace and implement change and possess good interpersonal skills
- The position requires a working knowledge of current accounting guidance and practices and the ability to research, interpret and implement technical accounting guidance in an efficient and effective manner
- Knowledge of and experience using a modern enterprise-wide computer system and other financial reporting systems would also be beneficial to the person in this position
- Given the many facets of this position on a day-day basis, the Assistant Corporate Controller must be able to effectively and properly prioritize his or her work flow and delegate responsibilities accordingly
- The Assistant Corporate Controller must be success driven and goal oriented and possess the qualities, character and willingness to be promoted to other positions within the Company
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
