YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Asset Protection Supervisor, you will be part of the Asset Protection Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
•Traffic Control Operator of Haulage Road intersections
•Control and direct Light vehicles on active Haulage Roads ensuring rights-of-way on and through the intersections are adhered to within the defined limits
•Use specific Traffic Controller operating rules, instructions and techniques, this position ensures that vehicles clear the intersection safely while considering the approach of Haulage Road Vehicles and equipment ti minimize delays to operations
•Maintain alertness at all times
•Monitor and warn oncoming traffic of potential hazards
•Communicate effectively with other mine employees and Traffic Controllers using established procedures and radio equipment to ensure the understanding of instructions
•Assist in Security Execution operations, coordinate and respond to all site-based emergencies
•Aid in the prevention of theft, vandalism, trespassing and any other actions that may disrupt the safe and secure operations of the mine site
•Assist in training surrounding the execution of Security related activities ensuring competency and functionality of all Critical Controls relevant to the work
•Administrative duties including but not limited to all related daily documentation
•Maintain compliance of all security processes and procedures
•Conduct any additional security related tasks or posts as directed by the Detour Lake Mine Asset Protection Management
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•A valid Private Security and Investigative Services Issued Security Guard License
•Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience is preferred. Security training at an accredited institution considered an asset
•Knowledge of Industrial environment is an asset
•Strong communication skills in daily interactions
•Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
•Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace
•Ability to maintain concentration and mental alertness in a variety of situations
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure
•Valid G2 Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record
•This job will require working in all types of weather, including snow, rain, and heat
•Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Your Work Schedule:
•Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine.
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
