Our team of Asset Integrity Technologists and Engineers implements a wide variety of inspection, repair, risk assessment, and corrosion management technologies to ensure our Asset Integrity Programs are executed with optimal effectiveness. These roles interface closely with Safety, Engineering, and Operations groups while gaining exposure to all technical elements of Asset Integrity for pipelines, pressure equipment, tanks, and structural components.
Based in Brooks, Alberta the Asset Integrity Technologist/Engineer will have the opportunity to deal with a wide variety of assets for the full life cycle from design and commissioning through to close-down, and decommissioning means utilizing and developing your expertise across a broad range of processes, workflows and technologies. - Strong working knowledge of upstream pipeline integrity management
- Apply risk assessment methodologies to ensure Canadian Natural’s assets remain at a tolerable level with respect to safety, environmental impact, compliance, reliability, and economic loss
- Work with other Asset Integrity team members, Operations, Production, Engineering, and Management to deliver effective Asset Integrity Management programs that address all Asset Integrity threats. Such programs include but are not limited to:
- Corrosion control programs
- Inspection programs
- Monitoring programs
- Metallurgical upgrades
- Design/process changes
- Detection and measurement systems
- Proactively analyze inspection results, failure investigation findings, risk assessment results, and process conditions to ensure that key degradation mechanisms are understood, and that appropriate mitigation and monitoring techniques are in place
- Oversee the corrosion monitoring program and chemical inhibition program
- Coordinate cathodic protection of pipelines and associated facilities
- Assist with Canadian Natural’s asset maintenance program including tank inspection and ensuring regulatory requirements for Pressure Vessels, PSV’s are being met
- Develop and maintain inspection schedules to aid in annual budgeting
- Reconcile and update Canadian Natural’s equipment inventory databases
- Co-ordinate maintenance activities, including repair procedures, to minimize downtime
- Work with vendors to ensure reporting is accurate and timely
- Attend Corporate Integrity Network Meetings and liaise with regulators
- Minimum 3 years of related oil and gas industry experience
- A relevant technical degree or diploma with professional or certified designation is considered an asset
- Pipeline experience and NACE/AMPP Corrosion courses is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of the pipeline codes & standards: CSA Z662, provincial & federal jurisdictional directives
- Experience with pipeline maintenance work coordination
- API Certifications would be considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and integrity management software systems such as Accumap, Maxi-Trak, Abacus, or Maximo
- Self-starter and strong analytical skills are required
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and excellent safety attitude
