Overview
The Asphalt Paving Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all asphalt materials meet established quality standards, specifications, and regulations. This role involves inspecting materials, performing tests, and collaborating with paving crews to maintain a consistent, high-quality finished product.
Key Responsibilities
•Quality Testing & Inspection:
•Collect asphalt samples on-site for laboratory and field testing.
•Monitor mix design, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards.
•Measure and inspect various aspects of asphalt placement and production to ensure quality standards are being met.
•Documentation & Reporting:
•Record and document all test results accurately for compliance and quality tracking.
•Maintain detailed project logs and generate reports on findings.
•Communicate test results and corrective actions to supervisors and project managers.
•Ensure all testing and processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
•Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to maintain specification requirements.
•Work closely with paving crews to address any quality concerns and implement corrective measures.
•Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to materials, equipment, and processes.
•Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost efficiencies.
•Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, promoting a safe work environment.
•Support and collaborate with the paving crew, foreman, and leadership to achieve project goals.
•Actively participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
•Proven experience in a construction environment or related field is preferred but not required.
•Knowledge of project plans and interpretation of job specifications is a plus.
•Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while being self-motivated.
•Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
•Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with crew members on site to provide optimal solutions.
•Familiarity with safety protocols related to construction sites is essential.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
