This role supports the Energy division by assisting with the installation and maintenance of overhead and underground utility systems. You’ll be responsible for supporting high-voltage distribution construction and field operations, gaining real-world experience while training under experienced linemen. Success in this role means contributing to safe and efficient job site operations, all while upholding KE’s commitment to Safety, People, Passion, and Performance. You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Assist in the installation of 15, 25, and 35 kV poles and overhead distribution lines
- Support underground cable terminations, vaults, and pad-mounted equipment
- Operate or assist with bucket trucks, digger derricks, and trenchers
- Interpret site layouts and construction drawings
- Maintain documentation and job site records in project systems
- Work outdoors in varied weather conditions on active job sites
- Travel for extended periods for out-of-town work
- Participate in daily safety briefings and on-site hazard assessments
- Complete additional duties and learning assignments as needed

- Experience or training in electrical construction or utility line work
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 100%) with overnight stays
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
- Self-motivation and team-first attitude
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving history
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

Pay Range: $25 – $35 per hour plus per diem and project-based travel incentives
