Job Description
The Apprentice Electrician position is responsible for providing support to PV/BESS plant sites, troubleshoot/resolve equipment issues, emergency repairs, as well as providing O&M support. Other responsibilities include training new BESS Techs, leading initiatives, coordinating and communicating with customers, and overall operational support. If you know and understand electrical theory and know AC/DC, NEC, LOTO and how to use a meter you're a fit.
This is a TEMPORARY position in this area. Once this job campaign is over this will turn into a traveling position.
Job Duties And Expectations
•Execute design change requirements and equipment modifications
•Prepare service reports for site visits, emergency repairs, equipment modifications and equipment improvement investigations
•Installation, removal and maintenance of related electrical equipment
•Develop plans, maintenance schedules and communicate them to workers
•Qualifying of equipment and systems
•Document work performed and report in a clear and concise manner
•Monitor health and safety objectives to ensure they are met
•Apply problem-solving skills to identifying and resolving issues at hand
•Coordinate and oversee sub-contractors on an as-needed basis
•Diagnose/troubleshoot equipment failures and perform annual maintenance on a variety of electrical equipment
•Diagnose and repair system failures at existing solar sites and identify potential issues that may impact future performance
•Support and develop real-time solutions to daily site operational issues
•Ensure a safe, event free work environment by adhering to company protocols, safety procedures and regulations
•Ensure compliance with all operational, environmental and other regulatory and policy compliance requirements.
Qualifications
•Prior experience within the BESS, photovoltaic industry or equivalent job-related experience
•Utility scale BESS work experience, inverter manufacturer certifications
•NABCEP certification preferred
•2-4 years verifiable electrical installation experience
•Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
•Clear understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures with minimum requirement of OSHA 10 certification
•Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
•Prior experience with installation or maintenance of solar sites and/or utility distribution systems
•Power Electronics experience is a HUGE +

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
