Summary/Objective:
The Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical support to customers, business partners, and the sales team. This position involves assessing customers' technical requirements and recommending appropriate product or service solutions. The Applications Engineer is responsible for estimating costs, advising the sales team on technical aspects, and ensuring the seamless integration of proposed solutions with existing systems and equipment. Close collaboration with engineers from various departments is essential to troubleshoot and resolve issues before, during, and after implementation. Additionally, this role may involve delivering sales presentations to prospective clients and conducting user training. The Applications Engineer also serves as a liaison between specifying engineers, customers, sales representatives, industry experts, and the Aalberts Engineering team, leveraging these relationships to drive innovation initiatives.
Essential Functions:
•Understand and recommend products or services to meet the technical needs of customers.
•Consult with sales and technical teams to ensure solution integration with current systems.
•Collaborate with various engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
•Conduct sales presentations and technical training for customers.
•Prepare and review basic takeoffs based on project plans and specifications.
•Provide application and selection assistance to customers and colleagues.
•Work closely with management to evaluate new products, strategies, and market trends.
•Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, professional publications, and networking.
•Assist the sales team in meeting their territory and market business objectives.
•Resolve internal and external technical support requests related to product selection, specification, installation, etc.
•Maintain communication with customers, partners, and team members via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
•Deliver status updates on current and future projects.
•Present products at conferences, seminars, and field events.
Competencies:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
•Ability to work independently and within a team.
•Capability to multitask and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
