SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Applications Analyst provides research, analysis and reporting support to end users while assisting in resolving issues and requests while ensuring data integrity, policies, procedures and practices are adhered to. This role assists in developing processes and system enhancements to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of corporate processes and information management.
Position Details
•Union - This position is temporary full time for up to 12 months.
Core Responsibilities
User Support
•Provide 1st tier business support, expertise and guidance to end-users to address inquiries, issues and processes.
•Analyze and troubleshoot application issues by identifying and implementing solutions in collaboration with Application Managed Services and additional departmental resources as required.
•Work with end-users to define and articulate report specifications by analyzing, generating and testing reports ensuring information accuracy and timely delivery.
•Develop training material, provide training and ongoing system support to operational end-users to optimize utilization of system(s).
•Provide options for development and change and use information with insight and innovation to support decision-making and create value for the business.
•Work closely with business analysts, Digital Technology & Security (DT&S) teams and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure successful application deployment and support.
•Test system scenarios and replicate issues / errors to resolve users’ inquiries.
•Create end-user documentation and provide to business representatives for acceptance.
•Gather and analyze business requirements to ensure proposed solutions meet business expectations.
•Provide knowledge transfer and interpretation of corporate policies and procedures by end-user departments.
Solutions Support
•Work with internal departments and external vendors on new initiatives, applications and projects.
•Maintain an issues log for defect tracking and testing for remediation of issues.
•Support in testing upgrades and enhancements to existing applications/modules and perform testing while collaborating with business representatives and Application Managed Services to resolve system issues.
•Execute test plans and complete the test scenarios for current functionality and system enhancements.
•Analyze systems applications and/or business issues and recommend resolutions to either the system and/or business process.
•Implement and interpret approved corporate policies to ensure system process support and alignment.
•Participate in trouble shooting issues and escalate them accordingly.
Data and System Integrity
•Provide data quality reports to assist in data integrity and financial analysis as requested.
•Create and maintain documentation related to the applications.
•Document troubleshooting procedures and FAQs (frequently asked questions) for system support.
•Analyze user roles and system profiles to ensure the correct positions have access to appropriate environments, regions, screens, information and fields.
•Manage and modify user access to applications regularly to provide security and comply with internal and external audit protocols.
•Document and perform application security reviews and audit requirements.
Processes and Systems
•Develop and maintain documents, templates and tools to support quality assurance and testing.
•Research, analyze, evaluate and provide input potential process improvements to gain efficiencies while ensuring best practices and corporate policy is followed.
•Investigate process improvements and provide expertise in the development of new or enhanced system requirements.
•Provide recommendations for updates to corporate policies, standards, and processes.

Qualifications
•Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
•Two (2) years’ support experience in enterprise applications including end-user support, troubleshooting and documentation.
•Pre-qualifying assessment.
Additional Information
•Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
•This job requires extended work hours.
