Objective:
Under general supervision, this position assists the Director of Safety with the
organization and execution of safety directives at the organization by assisting with the
coordination of organization policies, recommendations of Dycom safety consultants,
and federal and state agencies.
1) Assists with the development and maintenance of proactive safety programs to
ensure a safe and injury free work environment for employees, including policies, OSHA
Regulations and required training compliance, and ergonomics.
2) Assist with reporting of accident and near miss investigations and safety job audits
for prevention of work-related injuries with department supervisors, managers, and
directors.
3) Participates in and coordinates with the Director of Safety and Hiring Managers, and
Safety Leads, regarding new hire safety and health orientation, as well as other
specified training programs.
4) With direction from the Director of Safety, acts as resource information person for the
organization.
5) Assists with the completion and maintenance of all Safety Data Sheets.
6) Complete annual training.
7) Works in conjunction with the Director of Safety to make decisions and provide
communication and training regarding safety in compliance with organization policies.
8) Assists the Director of Safety and Safety Leads to implement and maintain
compliance with PPE programs.
9) Assists with the completion of weekly, monthly and annual Safety and Environmental
audits to the facility to include notification to Managers for recommended corrective
action.
10) Assists with the development, generation and distribution of monthly Safety reports
and communication, including safety trend analysis, hours worked and accident
tracking.
11) Assists with recruitment of safety positions.
12) Headway PPE assignments.
13) Assists with the safety, health and welfare of the Organization’s employees include
administration for management of Workers' Compensation.
14) Accountable for driver qualification process for all drivers in coordination with DOT,
FMCSA and organization policy.
15) Ensure compliance with FMC regulations and maintain driver files in RAIR.
16) Maintain an active driver list.
17) Manage the safety LMS system.
