The Cyber Security Analyst will assist in developing and implementing technical security measures to protect Precision Drilling’s information systems. The successful candidate will support the organization’s cybersecurity strategy through hands-on technical work and collaboration with various teams.

Day In The Life
- Security Monitoring & Threat Mitigation: Monitor computing environments using Microsoft Defender, InTune, and MDR services to detect, respond to, and prevent security threats.
- Incident Response & Risk Management: Support incident investigations, proactively identify risks, and implement preventive measures to ensure system integrity and availability.
- Security Strategy & Solutions: Drive the development of advanced security strategies, build business cases with cost-benefit analyses, and align initiatives with enterprise goals.
- Governance, Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with security frameworks, conduct security assessments, and contribute to regular KPI reporting for leadership visibility.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with IT teams and external partners, fostering a security-aware culture and building trust across departments.
- Technical Guidance & Documentation: Provide technical security guidance, assist with secure configurations, and support the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Demonstrate strong time management, decision-making, and the ability to clearly present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Comprehensive Cyber Security Expertise: Strong technical skills in threat detection, network security (on-prem and cloud), privileged access management (e.g., CyberArk), and Microsoft enterprise environments, including Azure, Entra, and M365.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Deep understanding of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 270XX, CMMC), regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX/C-SOX), and how cyber risks translate to financial impact.
- Technical Proficiency & Innovation: Proficient in vulnerability identification, DevSecOps practices, virtualization (HyperV, Docker, Kubernetes), and exploring emerging technologies to enhance security solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to work cross-functionally across IT, business units, and external partners; skilled in documenting procedures and presenting technical information effectively.
- Industry Experience & Qualifications: Tertiary IT qualifications or 5+ years in cyber security, with desirable experience in SAP, OT/ICS/SCADA environments, and the Oil & Gas industry.
