The Opportunity

The Accounts Payable Analyst position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and review of invoices and other transactions to vendors. This position will take their day-to-day task guidance from and report to the Accounts Payable Team Lead.

What You'll Do

- Accounts Payable validation and processing of invoices for both Canada and US including PO and non-PO invoices, urgent invoices, utilities and Requests for Funds

- Interact with Supply Chain (SC) AP Leader(s), SC AP team members, SC Buyers, BU Client(s), Supplier(s) and other internal and external stakeholders

- Participate in daily AP huddles and other meetings

- Manage workload to required KPI’s and regularly review KPI’s and other metrics

- Assist with downloading and coding for utility invoices in preparation for invoice processing

- Assist with the review/processing of invoices with holdbacks and withholding taxes

- Ensure compliance to all policies and procedures related to AP

- Assure and maintain data integrity in compliance with governance and SOX controls

- Support vendor queries and issue resolution regarding invoices and payments

Minimum Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Finance/Accounting related functions

- Strong understanding of accounting processes, governance, and SOX controls

- Experience processing invoices with Canada and US taxes

- Ability to work with a large volume of transactions within tight deadlines

- Ability to react in a fast paced and changing environment while not losing focus on priorities

Preferred Qualifications

- Oil and gas industry experience

- Requirement to ensure management of confidential and sensitive information

- Experience using SAP is required, knowledge regarding the use of SAP in conjunction with Ecommerce and Vendor Invoice Management (VIM)

- Superior computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and other system-based applications

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA

- Knowledge of Supply Chain ‘procure to pay’ process

- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills

- Demonstrate excellence in delivering superior customer service

- Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity

- Strong problem-solving skills focusing on attention to detail and accuracy
