Position Overview
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Alimak Raise Miner’s will perform to support full-service mining operations offered by SCR.
Essential Job Functions
•
Break rock and cycle a full round according to the mining plan
•
Safely operate the Alimak, cycle rounds according to plan and procedures
•
Construct and maintain underground installations as face advances
•
Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner
•
Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage
•
Following Company health and safety standards and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor
Education/Experience Requirements
•
Minimum Education: Common core completion as well as specialty module U0064 or provincial equivalent
•
Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience driving Alimak raise
Other Skills/Abilities
•
Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times
•
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical
•
Demonstrated multi-tasking skills and ability to organize workload are necessary
•
Read and interpret blueprints, regulations, policies, and procedures utilized in construction and mining
•
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
Working Conditions
•
Underground and surface mine setting with the majority of hours being spent walking on a variety of surfaces.
•
Shift work, overtime, weekend and on-call work
