Summary

DMC is currently looking for

Alimak Lead Miners

to join our team on a

rotational schedule

in

Sudbury, ON

. The Lead Miner (Alimak) will be responsible for leading Alimak raise mining activities; this includes overseeing raise miners while working and reporting directly to the raise supervisor, and the primary role for this position will be to maintain and construct underground installations. The Alimak Raise Miner will specialize in handheld drill operations.

Responsibilities

- Leads crews and coordinates the activities of the workers in surface and underground mining projects.

- Works within the contract presented to the client.

- Provides training to Alimak crews.

- Daily documentation and correspondence between shifts on performance of crew and equipment.

- Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all DMC requirements.

- Ensures that all workers in the workplace take responsibility for aspects of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment over which they have control including adherence to all Occupational Health & Safety requirements.

- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

- Ontario Basic Common Core Modules (770010).

- Ontario Common Core Specialty Modules for Alimak Raise U0064.

- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a similar leading role.

- Sound knowledge, skills and experience with Alimak operations.

- Experience with Alimak Raise Mining.

- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

- Solid oral and written communication skills.

- Able to work a rotation of day and night shifts.
