What you’ll do:

Utilizing best practices, investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and other HSE occurrences to determine root causes and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Maintain detailed records of incidents, safety reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits, ensuring safe work practices and proper use of PPE.
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE programs, policies, and procedures for compliance with legal and company standards.
Review and update first aid instructions, assessments, and hazard evaluations.
Report recordable injuries or critical incidents.
Promote a safety-first culture and encourage reporting of unsafe practices and potential hazards.
Collaborate with Operations on confined space hazard assessments and maintain a site-specific inventory.
Schedule reviews of the NRM safety manual, annual emergency exercises, and Outages/Turnaround.

What you bring:


Required

5-7 years of EHS experience.
In depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in British Columbia and Alberta.
Valid driver’s license.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree related to Health and Safety from an accredited Post-Secondary Institution.
Experience conducting and reporting thorough investigations.


Preferred

Experience in reporting incidents to the regulatory agencies in the oil and gas sector (BC OGC, AER, CER).
Familiarity in delivering and supporting emergency response exercises (drills, tabletop, and full-scale).
Incident Command Training (ICS 100, ICS 200).
Industrial Hygiene training from an accredited Post-Secondary Institution.
Registered professional designation (CRSP, CSP, ROH, CIH,).

Salary Range:

 $100,000 - $125,000. Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate and will be aligned to internal equity.
