UDC is seeking a full-time Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Network Model Engineer (Consultant III/IV)
to join our team. The ADMS Network Model Engineer will have the opportunity to:
- Understand the benefits of an ADMS implementation.
- Participate in the implementation of ADMS control systems at electric utilities.
- Participate in mapping electric facilities data and engineering source data to the ADMS network model.
- Assist in the configuration Geographic Information Systems (GIS) extraction applications.
- Participate in customer data modeling workshops.
- Perform ADMS model validation.
- Troubleshoot software and model issues reported by the customer.
- Develop network models to support ADMS control systems at electric utilities.
- Import data from third party applications.
- Create and update ADMS network displays and symbology.
- Manage and document system configurations.
- Participate in Agile Sprints
- Participate in customer testing events.
- Ensure deliverables are thoroughly tested and meet customer expectations.
- Serve as a mentor to mid and entry-level engineers.
- Travel to customer site as needed
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in support of related utility consulting or large-scale system implementation/technology projects
- At least 2 years of experience in the electric utility industry
- Programming Languages/Packages/Scripting: Java, PL/SQL, Perl, Python, Shell Scripting
- Web Based Development –HTML, XML, AngularJS
- Database: Oracle, SQLSERVER, MongoDB
- Source Code Control Tools: Git, GitHub
- Operating System: Windows, Linux
- Excellent customer relations, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skillsSelf-motivated and ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team environment
- Experience in GIS, ArcGIS, Smallworld, or AutoCAD
- Education:
- MS EE – Controls Major, Power System Major, Power System Protection
- Skill Sets
- Exposure to Engineering Software – CYME, ETAP, or Windmil
- 3+ years’ experience with an Electric Distribution or a Transmission Utility company or 3+ years’ experience with a vendor company (e.g., OSI, Schneider, Siemens, ESRI, ETAP) or 3+ years’ experience with GIS Mapping Services company- Certifications/Licenses:
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)/ Engineer in Training (EIT) exam
- GIS Certification
- Professional Engineer (P.E.)

$90,000-$130,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
