Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Position Overview: This position has responsibilities in several different functions within operations. Quality includes inspection, tracking quality control data and administering different facility correction action systems and the ISO 9000 system. Assist with scheduling by creating the manufacturing instruction sheets, allocating material as well as coordinating late rod delivery. Assist the safety coordinator with training employees in safety management best practices, assist with hazard identification and the development of safe work procedures, identifying, developing and delivering safety training supplements, providing day-to-day guidance and advice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality
•Administer facility Supplier Correction Action Response System (SCARS) and Corrective and Preventative Action Response system (CAPAR)
•Administer facility ISO 9000 system
•Leading the process improvement teams
•Create and implement a system to track defects, test results or other reported quality control data
•Assist machine operators in determining quality issues with customer products
•Conduct visually and dimensional inspection of wire
•Take samples for analysis tensile checks and grain size
•Inspect wire bound for Perris from the Union and Fond du Lac facilities
Scheduling
•Assist in the creation of manufacturing instructions sheets (MIS), allocate raw material, schedule each operation included in the process and enter the data information contained on the manufacturing instruction sheets into the scheduling system
•Prepares paperwork for shipments including Bill of Lading and certificate
Safety:
•Maintain a working knowledge of local, state, & federal health and safety regulations.
•Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
•Serve as a representative for the Health & Safety program.
•In conjunction with functional supervisors perform hazard assessments and develop detailed area specific safety instructions.
•Attend and conduct health and safety presentations.
•Provide technical health and safety informational support for employees and management.
•Identify company safety issues and create appropriate solutions.
•Other duties as assigned.
Department Duties and Responsibilities:
•Read SDS’s to familiarized with chemicals used
•Place material on hold, if necessary, stop production w
•Work in various temperature environments
•Work overtime as required.
•Assist production manager and other operators as necessary
•Ability to communicate – verbal and written.
•Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy.
•Basic computer skills for data entry purposes
•Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Constant standing & walking
•Frequent pushing, pulling, & reaching
Preferred qualifications:
•High school graduate or equivalent preferred
•Predictable and consistent attendance is required
