Job Description
STATUS: This is a full-time non-exempt position LOCATED IN SEWARD, ALASKA
SUMMARY: The AR Technician is responsible for providing accounts receivable support to plant locations, managing monthly billing of select customers, recording daily banking and assisting with collection efforts.
1. Assists AR Manager in providing AR system, invoicing, and payment support for plant employees working remotely throughout the state.
2. Daily banking consists of pulling bank reports to match up to received remittances from customers and applying funds to invoices on AR accounts. Reconciling AR accounts as needed.
3. Processes customer refunds, processes late charges and NSF check adjustments to customer accounts. Performs EOM reconciliations and associated journal entries for Petro 49, Inc.
4. Performs/coordinates invoicing and receipt corrections with plant and office staff on customer accounts as needed.
5. Assists with month end processing of accounts receivables. Monitors invoice and receipt posting to ensure they are being done timely.
6. Assists with annual financial audit by pulling supporting documentation and preparing various reconciliations.
7. Reconcile receivable accounts with the general ledger monthly.
8. Assists and performs collection related task on an as needed basis.
9. Pulls personal /business credit reports and prepares credit files for review and approval by Credit Analyst or AR Manager. Create customer accounts as needed.
10. Other work-related duties as assigned by the AR Manager or Controller.
Requires thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Must have excellent communication skills and be effective in oral and written communication.
The ability to work independently with minimal oversight to complete assigned duties by target deadlines.
Strong administrative experience with demonstrated proficiency in communication orientated tasks and proven record of consistently providing quality customer service.
Prefer candidates with accounting or finance experience, however we can provide the right candidate with on-the-job experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical regulatory compliance documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, or regulatory agencies. Ability to write and effectively communicate utilizing e-mail. Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and facilitate problem resolutions.
Individual may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move hardware. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to occasionally lift 25 lbs.
For the most part, exposure is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
