Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with strong analytical skills to oversee our accounting for natural gas liquids. The candidate will be a heavy user of RightAngle, our enterprise-wide Energy Trading & Risk Management (“ETRM”) financial system for liquids. The candidate should have the following skills:

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•

Leadership and supervision of a staff of seven team members

•

Serve as a liaison between Downstream Accounting and Financial Accounting, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting

•

Oversee reconciliation of book to physical product inventory for all liquids products

•

Special projects and analysis to include impacts of change in accounting treatment or presentation and onboarding of new business

•

Work with commercial representatives and accounting management to determine proper accounting treatment and deal structure in RightAngle for new or amended business

•

Serve as approver for all new RightAngle transaction types and account code groups requested by both accounting and commercial representatives

•

Key participant and tester for future RightAngle upgrades

•

Assist with preparation and approval of complex journal entries

•

Oversee preparation of monthly and quarterly flux analysis

•

Participate as a key member for quarterly and annual MD&A presentations

•

Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

•

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field. Accounting degree is preferred.

•

GAAP knowledge, specifically revenue and inventory

•

10+ years progressive experience in commodity accounting

•

5+ years progressive supervisory experience with proven ability to lead others

•

Initiative and leadership in unstructured work environments, handling multiple job responsibilities, setting priorities, maintaining a high level of accomplishment, and implementing improvements to processes

•

Experience using an ETRM for daily accounting functions

•

Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to listen carefully and use clear and concise oral and written skills to convey facts and present positions

•

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Can grasp complex business problems and formulate solutions

•

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers

•

Thrives in a fast paced, dynamic, high-performance culture with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments

•

Regular and reliable attendance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•

Progressive experience in liquids accounting

•

Experience in RightAngle and/or Oracle Financials Cloud
