Job Summary
Accounting Internship will create an opportunity to apply educational knowledge in a corporate environment. The program will present opportunities applying strategic thinking, problem solving, and data analytics skills while working with experienced professionals in the accounting organization. Additionally, the program will expose you to the natural gas business.
Essential Functions
•Rotate through various accounting duties and perform routine work assignments as requested.
•Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close.
•Develop and/or enhance existing spreadsheets supporting business needs.
•Prepare and analyse monthly budget variance reports
•Implement, evaluate, and monitor controls systems
•Gather and analyse financial data on an ad hoc basis.
Education Requirements
•Full time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Must be enrolled in a four-year university.
•Graduation date of December 2025 or earlier.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Understanding of basic accounting principles and ability to interpret financial data
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to organize and present financial data effectively.
•Strong knowledge working in MS Excel.
Physical Requirements
•Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing, utilizing clear and concise language.
•Capable of operating a personal computer, whether it is a desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time to create, compose, and review documents and spreadsheets.
•Able to reach, grasp, and manipulate items necessary to perform job tasks.
•Able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time as required by job responsibilities.
•Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
