West Plains LLC is a part of BioUrja Group, and we are an agricultural commodity trading business specializing in warehouse operation, risk management, and transportation with a focus on creating value for the company’s producers and consumers. Our customers depend on us to provide market insight, risk management, and logistics support. We are federally licensed and bonded warehousemen that trade whole grains, feed ingredients, freight, and other commodities within North America. We are headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska and have twenty-five locations spread across six states. The company controls nearly 20 million bushels of elevator space though ownership or lease agreements.

The Accounting Clerk - Grain will be involved in several areas including Accounting, Clerical and Production Support in our Omaha, NE location. The position is responsible for effectively performing all tasks in an efficient manner following all company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

· Responsible for day to day Grain Clerk functions.

· Ensure proper application of contracts, freight payables, accounts payable and receivables.

· Accounting trouble shooting for various commodity transactions.

· Execute the daily invoicing of settlements including mailing, filing, verifying to ensure proper documentation has been received and problem resolution.

· Accounting functions relating to payables and receivables.

· Grain Clerk staff will be expected to work overtime during peek times determined by the Supervisor.

· Maintain an open line of communication with supervisor and accounting team.

· Maintain clean and accurate GrainSmart reports.

· Assist in all aspects of month end reports.

· Work as a team within office group and as a part of West Plains team.

· Work as a team with merchants to resolve and maintain customer issues.

· Maintain a solid grasp of company policies and procedures.

· Bring individual creativity and initiative to the execution of this position, sharing ideas and suggestions.

· Additional duties may be assigned to this position as required.

Job Requirements

· Must have excellent communication skills.

· High level of multi-tasking ability.

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Knowledge of basic general ledger accounting.

· Strong customer service skills.

· Ability to maintain confidential information.

· Follow Company policies.

· PC software Application skills

· At least 1 year industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
