As an Accounting Analyst Sr, you will play a crucial role in providing expertise and leadership in preparing and reviewing financial information for management decision-making or external reporting. You will use your experience, innovation and judgment to handle a diverse range of sophisticated assignments as you lead and mentor others. Your responsibilities will also include looking for ways to optimize business processes through technology and automation, improving efficiency and reducing costs. Responsibilities/Expectations:•Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysis
•Prepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports and analyses for internal/external customers with guidance only in complex situations
•Provides and reviews requested documentation and clear explanations for both internal and external audit processes
•Leads projects as team or Project Lead with moderate resource requirements and complexity
•processes and analyses significant amounts of data, including issues and transactions
•Support upstream, solar, and power generation accounting
•Provides accounting expertise for potential joint ventures, acquisitions or other transactions as relates to appropriate accounting standards
•Assists in researching solutions on technical accounting and reporting issues regarding the standards or non-routine accounting issues
•Assists with the implementation of new and revised accounting standards
•Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
•Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum six (6) years experience in accounting in the energy industry
•Preferred: accounting and data analytics/automation and/or CPA
Other Requirements:
•Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
•Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
•Ability to understand and work with sophisticated processes and accounting systems
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills
•Previous experience collaborating with senior leadership and reporting financial analysis
•Preferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
•Preferred: Prior experience in upstream industry
•Preferred: Prior experience in public accounting
•Promotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departments
, Applies specialized breadth and/or depth of expert knowledge in accounting, including preparation and understanding journal entries or analysis and preparation of complex financial data. Under minimal supervision, this position plans and carries out broad assignments related to preparing and analyzing various accounting statements and reports. Recommends improvements in accounting methods & procedures and coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions. Has latitude for independent action or decision. May have lead responsibility.
