Job Posting: Accountant II – Corporate Accounting

USST Holdings, the parent company of US Submergent Technologies and SediVision Engineering, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant II to join our dynamic corporate finance and accounting team in Sarasota, FL. This full-time, on-site role will support both operational and strategic financial initiatives across our family of sister companies.
The Accountant II position will work directly with our CFO/Controller and CEO to support both of our companies—US Submergent Technologies and SediVision Engineering—by managing daily accounting tasks and contributing to strategic financial projects that help expand our operations and increase revenue.
This role is crucial for managing our financial operations and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and strategic financial planning, supporting our mission.
· Maintain accurate financial and accounting records for both companies— US Submergent Technologies and SediVision Engineering.
· Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
· Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes.
· Assist in preparing financial reports, variance analyses, and dashboards for management review.
· Collaborate with the CFO/Controller to conduct job costing analysis, track job profitability, and identify operational efficiencies.
· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
· Provide insights into financial performance efforts through detailed reports and presentations.
· Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor expenditures against budgeted amounts.
· Conduct cash flow analysis to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
· Collaborate with management to develop financial strategies that align with company goals.
· Manage accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
· Coordinate and conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis with the CFO/Controller for new business ventures.
· Support the CFO/Controller with the year-end financial audits, tax preparation records, and ensure regulatory compliance is being met across all platforms.
· Help streamline the accounting processes and implement more internal control measures, if necessary.
· Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or another related field required.
· A minimum of at least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP.
· Experience in job cost accounting and/or construction/engineering industries is strongly preferred!
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other related computer programs.
· Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage priorities, and meet deadlines set in a timely and efficient manner as assigned by the CFO/Controller.
· Must be local to the Sarasota, FL area or other nearby/surrounding areas -OR- be willing to relocate immediately if offered the position (this is NOT a remote or hybrid position; must be willing and able to work in person in a corporate office setting).
