Account Manager
Position Summary:
dancker is seeking an experienced and client-focused Account Manager to join our team and support our educational vertical. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of key client accounts across commercial and federal sectors, ensuring the highest levels of service, satisfaction, and project delivery. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the commercial furniture industry, including educational contracts, and excels at relationship-building, project oversight, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:•Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships.
•Manage the full project lifecycle from opportunity through final installation, in collaboration with designers, project managers, and vendor partners.
•Provide guidance to clients regarding product recommendations, budgets, schedules, and compliance standards.
•Coordinate procurement, vendor communications, and installation timelines to ensure seamless execution.
•Review scope of work, drawings, and quotes to confirm alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
•Monitor and report on project status, proactively addressing risks and resolving issues.
•Maintain accurate records and documentation using internal systems (CORE, Hedberg, CRM tools).
•Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful and timely project outcomes.
•Support business development initiatives and contribute to account growth strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
•10+ years of account management and/or project management experience in the commercial furniture industry.
•In-depth knowledge of GSA standards, procurement processes, and compliance requirements.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-first approach.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project), AutoCAD (read/interpret drawings), and CRM platforms.
•Familiarity with vendor quoting platforms a plus.
•Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
•Experience working with design and architectural professionals.
•Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
