Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounting Specialist will serve as a key factor in the daily operations of the business performing functions related to financial records updates, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable documents, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts, and clerical tasks related to office and accounting operations, in accordance with state and federal laws, as well as company policies and procedures.

1. Maintain account receivables system; invoice customers; compile and sort incoming checks; and input cash received. Contact individuals with delinquent accounts; propose credit limit changes for minimal financial risk.
2. Process RMA invoices and apply related credits; research, advise, and create memos and write-offs to customer disputes and/or company transaction errors.
3. Maintain account payables system; match vendor invoices to receiving documents; enter invoices into computer system; resolve discrepancies; and verify correct pricing. Mail payments out to vendors.
4. Review of Purchase Order receipt details for aged items, and the reconciliation of accounts payable records with vendor statements in a timely matter.
5. Process payroll and generate related journal entry and reporting.
6. Review production job costs for accuracy prior to the jobs being closed out.
7. Analyze and report on variances, working with various other departments to understand what is driving the variances and what can be done to reduce or eliminate them.
8. Assist with entry of select master data into the ERP system.
9. Assist in the month end and year end close processes by performing journal entries and reconciliations.
10. Review and calculate use tax for internal purchases.
11. Track tax payments and compile information for tax filing. Obtain and track status of tax exemption forms from customers. Prepare annual 1099s.
12. Assist in the annual budgeting process and subsequent periodic review of actual to budget.
14. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions; ability to read, comprehend, and prepare correspondence.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
· Requires strong oral and written communication skills in order to interact with customers, vendors, and fellow associates.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Competency in MS office, databases and accounting software.
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
· Must possess a strong sense of urgency and follow-through and be able to self-manage your work load.
· 3-5 years of experience in Accounting or related field, preferred.
· Deal with conflict in an appropriate and effective manner.
· Flexible and productive with strong attention to detail.
· Pride of workmanship, integrity and a strong work ethic.
