Shift:
•2nd Shift 1:30pm-12:00am (Monday-Thursday)
Job Summary:
The Toolroom Technician works with fixtures, jigs, and gages to provide products to our customers quicker, and at a more competitive price while maintaining complete control over the design, build process, and lead time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manufacture all components using CNC or manual equipment per Job Orders prints from materials listed on B.O.M
•Assemble and adjust all manufactured and purchased components per Job Order prints
•Provide support to departments to repair, adjust, or shim any damaged or worn-out components on new or legacy fixtures
•Review Job Orders Packets and prints to locate, identify, and organize required materials
•If available, fit production parts into fixture and make any needed adjustment
•Organize, monitor, and replenish department inventory items
•Log daily time spent to the appropriate operation on the Job Traveler
•Heat treats all required components per print instructions
•Provide diagnostic and repair help to Maintenance for department equipment if necessary
•Straighten, re-work, repair damaged or non-conforming production parts if requested. Insure DMR’s are issued if required
•Provide emergency tool sharpening for radial drill or turret if necessary
•Provide support to aid manufacturing or assembly issues in the Fab department
Minimum Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or equivalent:
•1-3 years with similar work as stated above
•1-3 years of experience setting up and operating department CNC and manual equipment including: heat treat oven and surface grinder
•1-2 years of experience professionally interacting with individuals both inside and outside the company
•Experience with extreme attention to detail work
•Experience with ability to manage interruptions. Revision and priority changes with tight deadlines are commonplace.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, touch objects, tools and controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Working Environment:
Work is performed in an office and manufacturing plant environment. Employee will be required to wear all required personal protective equipment when on the manufacturing floor. This is an onsite role, requiring consistent presence at the location.
