The Fitter/Fabricator role is tasked with the fit-up, assembly, and MIG welding of various steel fabrications.
· Must be able to MIG weld (tack and string) various parts in different materials and fit-up parts prior to welding.
· Must be skilled in cutting (oxy fuel and hand plasma) as required.
· Must be able to conduct dimensional inspections of parts and check for quality requirements.
· Must understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings and have a good understanding of blueprints and weld joint designs.
· Must be willing to perform various other shop duties as needed, such as general MIG welding.
· Must be able to follow directions and maintain a professional attitude.
· Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to work within a team environment.
· Must be able to demonstrate an ability to use hand tools (tape measures, square, drill, saw, grinder, etc.) or have a strong overall mechanical aptitude.
· Must be punctual/reliable and be willing to work overtime as needed.
· This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout the day. Team Member must be able to lift, push, and/or pull items 5o+ lbs. safely.
· Must be willing to learn and adhere to required safety standards and practices.
· Must have or be obtaining a High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Must have experience in welding carbon, stainless, or high alloy steels. (3-5 years’ experience preferred.)
Must have experience in Fitting / Fabricating not JUST weldingat least 1-2 years.
