We’re currently seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant Facilities Manager to lead 2nd shift operations at a large manufacturing facility.
We are looking for you to:
•Supervise and coordinate daily operations across janitorial, utility, and material handling teams on 2nd shift.
•Interview, hire, train, and coach team members to meet performance and safety standards.
•Manage schedules, delegate assignments, and ensure completion of all shift responsibilities including janitorial services, light maintenance, and material movement.
•Conduct facility walk-throughs and cleaning inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization.
•Oversee safety procedures and take proactive steps to provide a secure and hazard-free work environment.
•Operate equipment as needed (e.g., forklifts, tuggers) and support loading/unloading activities.
•Perform and supervise light facility maintenance, basic equipment checks, and preventive upkeep.
•Ensure aisles and common areas remain clear by removing debris, pallets, and trash.
•Assist with facility project work including minor installations and repairs.
•Communicate regularly with facility personnel and clients to address service needs and updates.
Maintain records, safety documentation, and shift activity logs.
Must haves:
•2–5 years of supervisory experience in facilities, janitorial, or manufacturing/warehouse operations.
•Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
•Hands-on experience with janitorial practices, basic maintenance, and/or material handling.
•Comfortable operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and tuggers.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proficient with basic computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
•Safety-conscious mindset and experience enforcing workplace safety protocols.
•Professional demeanor and strong service/quality orientation.
