Position Summary:
This Turbine Deck Sales Engineer role requires extensive knowledge of STAR products and services to ensure customers' needs are met. Regular and frequent travel, approximately 30%, will be required to installation sites to gain knowledge of OEM products. The primary technical resource for the field sales force, this role involves actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the inside sales team, the Sales Engineer will articulate technology and product positioning, identify all technical issues of assigned accounts, and assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the sales cycle is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Functional
•Travel to support ongoing jobs during outage season and in a business development capacity outside of outage season
•Manage and interpret Customer’s needs and provide solutions on an on-call basis
•Persuade Customer that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
•Perform cost estimates and proposals, as needed
•Offer after-sales support services
•Administrating Customer accounts and maintaining customer database
•Prepare reports for sales follow-up
•Help to achieve company sales targets and goals
•Coordinate sales efforts with third party rep network
•Perform technical presentations to customers and at industry conferences
•Provide pre-sales technical coordination with inside sales team as part of proposal development
•After job award, be the liaison between customers and engineering
•Provide training and produce support material for the third party manufacturer’s rep network
•Candidate would ideally be officed out of Marion, Ohio but remote option is available for the right individual.

Educational Requirements
•A bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, is required.
Experience Requirements
•Experience in the gas and/or steam turbine industry is required
•Five or more years of experience in field service or sales management is preferred.
•High business acumen with a fundamental understanding of how to successfully grow sales of manufacturing business is required.

Physical Requirements
•Must be able to lift and manipulate 25lbs on an occasional basis.
•Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
•Must be able to frequently bend, stoop.
