- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
- Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
Under general supervision, perform a wide variety of activities in response to requests for water service. Review and process tap applications and stub-in agreements. Evaluate site plans and determine appropriate documentation and reviewer approvals. Explain all tap-related policies and procedures and the department’s Engineering Standards and Operating Rules. Assist Plan Review coordinators with projects.
- Respond to walk-in, email, and telephone inquiries regarding the sale and modification of water supply licenses, inquiries concerning replacement taps, cut-off taps, fire lines, cancellations, and characteristics of contract service areas.
- Answer applicant questions regarding the policies and procedures for processing water supply licenses and monies collected.
- Calculate System Development Charges (SDC) for new and modified service connections. Accurately determine appropriate SDC credit by reviewing internal historical documents and external records.
- Evaluate license status, reactivate water supply licenses, and retroactively bill accounts when applicable.
- Process payments for Sales Administration customers and a variety of organizational functions.
• Carry out the department’s Tap Allocation and Participation programs. Supply and explain information concerning programs.
- Interpret maps and indexes of the various departmental distributors to verify main installations and distributor boundaries.
- Maintain contingent employee status with the City & County of Denver for access to City & County of Denver permitting software and project files.
- Monitor Large Volume water users and send notifications, including penalty charges when usage is exceeded.
- Provide organizational support for tap record inquiries including Lead Reduction Program audits, and service line replacement configuration questions from field staff. Review Lead reimbursement program applications and request refunds. Coordinate resolution for inactive lead taps.
- Coordinate the Tap Sales review process by providing design comments on site plans and routing plans to the appropriate reviewers until design approval. Act as a project champion between customers and internal Denver Water review teams through project completion.
- Respond to inquiries regarding Will Serve Letter requests.
- Create, update, and adhere to standard work procedures.
- Assist with special projects, compile information on district services, run specialized reports, and track distributor taps.
- Perform related work as required.
