About This Job

Assembles and fits to drawing dimensions of all kinds of structural, plate and mechanical materials into all types of assemblies.

Responsibilities:

•

Metal fabrication basic knowledge required.

•

Solid background working with steel. (Carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel)

•

Read and ability to do layout according to blueprint.

•

Verifies conformance of work piece to specs using square, caliper, and measuring tape.

•

Ability to use welding torch and hand tools.

•

Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel products such as beams, braces, pipes, and plates for jackets and decks

•

Ability to construct templates and fixtures using hand tools.

•

Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.

•

Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel.

•

Perform measurement verification welds as required.

•

Tack your own fits.

•

Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading

•

Perform quality work with limited oversight and/or instructions.

•

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

•

Perform other duties as required that support shop projects.

EXPERIENCE rEQUIRED:

•

Structural Fitter: 2 - 4 years (Required)

pHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

•

Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers

•

Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help

•

Frequent movement to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

•

Ability to operate job related tools

•

Significant and sustained periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.

•

Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision.

•

Ability to work in hot/cold environments
