The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator supports employees and management by coordinating HR programs, recruitment, training, employee relations, benefits administration, and workplace health and safety initiatives. This role ensures compliance with Alberta employment standards and occupational health and safety legislation while promoting a safe, respectful, and productive workplace.
· Support and promote compliance with Alberta OH&S company policies, and safety programs.
· Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and use of required PPE.
· Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, attendance, and disciplinary processes.
· Coordinate recruitment, job postings, interviews, and reference checks.
· Support onboarding, orientation, and employee training initiatives.
· Administer employee benefits, WCB claims, and employee assistance programs.
· Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
· Support the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
· Act as a resource to employees and management on HR, compensation, and employment standards matters.
· Experience with human resources practices and workplace safety programs.
· Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, WCB, and OH&S.
· Excellent communication skills with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
· Office-based role with some standing, walking, and computer work
· Ability to manage stress and maintain attention to detail.
Candidates must be willing and able to work 39 hours per week as part of a Group Averaging Arrangement.
