We are currently seeking a Analyst II, IT - Portfolio PMO to join our Information Technology t team in Toronto.
As a Analyst II, IT - Portfolio PMO, you will support the planning, execution, and management of the IT portfolio of projects and initiatives within an organization. Your experience and skills help ensure the alignment of IT projects with the strategic goals of the organization, optimize resource allocation, and monitor the performance and progress of multiple projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Assist in developing and maintaining the IT project portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment, prioritization, and lifecycle management. Support governance by implementing standards, frameworks, and compliance processes using tools like Microsoft Project, CA PPM, and SharePoint.
- Analyze project data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities. Use statistical techniques and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to support decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
- Configure and maintain portfolio management tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project), set up dashboards, and automate reporting systems to support efficient tracking and reporting of project metrics
- Identify and monitor portfolio risks, assist in mitigation planning, and optimize resource allocation across projects. Leverage tools like RiskWatch, OneTrust, Smartsheet, and Resource Guru for assessments and planning.
- Collaborate with project managers and business leaders to gather insights, facilitate meetings, and manage expectations. Prepare and present comprehensive reports to senior management using Power BI or Tableau.
- Promote process improvements in portfolio management practices and provide training and support to teams. Develop materials and conduct workshops using tools like Camtasia, LeanKit, and Confluence for documentation and optimization.
- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other agile methodology certification.
- Minimum 4 years in Project management or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in IT project management, portfolio management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in portfolio management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, CA PPM).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of project management methodologies: (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
