The Jr. Permit & Utility Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Permit and Utility Coordinator with all permitting and utility service coordination for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC projects. This role ensures that all required permits, inspections, and utility approvals are obtained in a timely manner to keep projects on schedule and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The coordinator acts as a liaison between the company, permitting authorities, utility companies, contractors, inspectors, and clients.
- Competitive Wage: $25 per hour
- Set Schedule: Monday - Friday, 30 - 35 hours a week

- Research permitting requirements for plumbing, electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and building projects across various municipalities.
- Prepare, submit, track, and manage permit applications.
- Ensure documentation is complete and compliant with codes and regulations.
- Follow up with permit offices to monitor progress and resolve issues or corrections.
- Schedule inspections and ensure inspectors have proper access and documentation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records of all permits, receipts, and approvals.
- Coordinate with utility providers (water, sewer, gas, electrical) for new service requests, disconnections, temporary services, and upgrades.
- Communicate project requirements to utility companies and track status updates.
- Troubleshoot delays or technical requirements with utility representatives.
- Maintain accurate logs of utility requests, approvals, lead times, and related communications.
- Provide permit and utility timelines to project managers and field teams.
- Update internal project management systems with permit and utility status.
- Notify teams of critical path items that may impact scheduling or deadlines.
- Assist with procurement of site plans, load calculations, drawings, and other documentation required for submittals.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Track expiration dates and renew permits as needed.
- Assist with documentation needed for final inspections and certificates of completion/occupancy.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in administrative systems.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience submitting permits for plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of utility company processes and requirements. (Preferred)
