Position Summary
The Controller will have responsibility for supporting the entire accounting process of designated area of responsibility. The position will support the work with closing cycles and operating rhythms, reporting, and controllership fundamentals. Role is to liaise and collaborate with all functional areas to provide real time support and analysis that adds value and assists in the business decision making process.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Leadership skills to run the financial organization and develop underlying financial team members.
- Strong communications skills to enable clear financial message to Sr. Management and Program/Project managers.
- Ability to interface and provide business advice to the operational and functional teams within the organization.
- Month-end entries related to projects that fall within designated area of responsibility
- Support the VP, Finance & Business Strategy & the ADTech Controller in strategy planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, 10 year long term planning and defining performance metrics within designated area of responsibility.
- Prepare the Division’s monthly forecast and ensuring its completeness and accuracy
- Review entries made to designated area of responsibility for accuracy and follow up accordingly
- Conduct meaningful variance analysis that provides insight into variance drivers and potential improvement areas
- Provide internal financials for designated area of responsibility
- Drive implementation of new standards or improvement initiatives in the organization within respective reporting area
- Responsible for implementation and ongoing reviews of SOX control design for applicability to the business
- Oversee Asset Management responsibilities in designated area of responsibility ensuring accuracy of reporting
- Support the VP, Finance & Business Strategy & the ADTech Controller with USGAAP, statutory audits, and development of policies and procedures for accounting
- Support global internal and external financial audits
- Participate in development and enforcement of financial procedures, processes and guidelines that will improve business
- Support in bid/contract reviews within respective area ensuring bids are maintaining a healthy level of profitability and avoiding contractual or financial risks where possible
- Support VP, Finance & Business Strategy & the ADTech Controller in M&A investment lookbacks when requested
- Use project management software and implement from bid to baseline to earned value vs. actual — all cost/schedule variances applicable.
- Understands U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) accounting & financial principles (e.g. Cost Accounting Standards) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements addressing pricing, estimating, cost proposal requirements and adequacy, Truthful Cost and Pricing Data, invoicing, and more.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience
- 10-15 years of experience in similar industry
- Experience with reporting under US GAAP for US parent company
- Experience working on US Government contracts
- US citizen and the ability to obtain this Clearance.
- Experience with PeopleSoft or Cost Point ERP System
- Experience with Adaptive Workday
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.), other advanced certification or post graduate degree preferred
