We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Safety Manager to lead our company-wide safety and compliance programs. This role is responsible for fleet safety, DOT compliance, field audits, OSHA reporting, environmental oversight, and insurance coordination.
The ideal candidate is data-driven, proactive in risk reduction, and experienced in both transportation safety and field operations environments.
- Serve as Program Manager for Lytx telematics system
- Monitor driver safety performance and coaching initiatives
- Track at-fault auto accidents per million miles
- Oversee auto insurance claims and claims documentation
- Support annual insurance renewal process with required safety metrics
- Ensure compliance with DOT, TXDMV, and FMCSA regulations
- Lead OSHA inspections and investigations
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs and required reporting
- Maintain and update company SDS program
- Oversee internal and external environmental audits
- Ensure facilities safety compliance (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, emergency action plans)
- Conduct field safety audits and jobsite hazard analyses
- Lead incident investigations (accidents, injuries, near misses)
- Develop and implement corrective action plans
- Track and report monthly safety performance metrics
- Develop and deliver safety training programs
- Track employee training hours and engagement
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments
Success in this role will be measured by:
- OSHA recordable incident rate
- Incident Frequency Rate (IFR)
- Lost Time Case Rate (LTCR)
- Lytx Program Status Score
- At-fault auto accidents per million miles
- Field audit safety violations
- Employee satisfaction (survey results)
- Employee training hours
- Average overtime per person
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety role (leadership experience preferred)
- OSHA 30 (General Industry or Construction) – required
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional) – preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, TXDMV, and FMCSA regulations
- Experience managing telematics programs (Lytx preferred)
- Strong investigative and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
