We are seeking an Engineering Technologist
to join our Engineering R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and repairing electronic components, circuits, and mechanical assemblies. You will interpret schematic drawings, create electronic prototypes, and troubleshoot systems. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with electronic and mechanical systems.
- Assemble, analyze, characterize, and test electronic components, mechanical assemblies, and systems.
- Design and build test circuits/fixtures, including PCB board and schematic design using tools such as
Altium
.
- Create electronic prototypes from schematics using wiring and soldering skills.
- Review documentation, procedures, and drawings for design, test, and assembly processes.
- Execute verification and validation test plans for electrical and mechanical assemblies.
- Inspect and repair electronic and mechanical components using oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeters.
- Complete repairs of returned products (RMAs) and non-conforming stock (NCRs).
- Participate in research and evaluation of third-party components.
- Document and report results on component and system evaluations.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Education:
College Diploma in Engineering Technology/Technician or related field.
- Experience:
2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on electronic assembly and prototyping (soldering, wiring).
- Advanced soldering skills
, including SMT ICs and high-temperature soldering.
- Experience with electronic schematics, PCB layout, and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to design and build mechanical test fixtures.
- Knowledge of electronics components and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with BOMs, assembly, and test procedures.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Altium (asset).
