Position Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Asset Management, the Commercial Asset Management Analyst will collaborate closely with the CAM team to support the financial, commercial, and strategic oversight of solar assets, contributing to the company's mission of advancing sustainable energy solutions. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic and rapidly growing solar energy sector. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong drive for renewable energy, the ability to manage high-volume daily operational tasks efficiently, and the initiative to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
•Daily Operations of Assigned Portfolios: Act as the primary liaison between external stakeholders and internal teams, effectively managing multiple workflows and meeting deadlines.
•Data Analysis & Reporting: Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to solar asset performance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
•Financial Analysis, Revenue Management & Budget Control: Support financial assessments of solar projects, including cost-benefit analysis, budget tracking, revenue reporting, and reconciliation.
•Compliance Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from authorities, utilities, financial institutions, and other external entities for assigned portfolios.
•Contract Review & Negotiation: Collaborate with the legal team on contract drafting, review, and negotiations related to solar services and sales agreements.
•Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of asset-related activities, contracts, and documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
•Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and market-related risks; coordinate with legal teams to address disputes related to asset ownership, land use, or contractual matters.
•Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing key insights and updates on asset management activities while ensuring a seamless transition during the onboarding of new assets.
Qualifications:
Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking and thrive in the fast pace of a rapidly growing company. In addition, the candidate must possess:
•Experience: 0–2 years of experience in operations or renewable energy-related fields preferred.
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business analytics, or a related discipline preferred; a master’s degree is a plus.
•Passion for Renewable Energy: Enthusiastic about the renewable energy sector, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company. Prior experience or a background in renewable energy is a plus.
•Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, with a solid understanding of financial modeling. Familiarity with other data analytics tools is a plus
•Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess complex data, manage competing deadlines across multiple portfolios, and provide strategic insights.
•Attention to Detail & Organization: Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-up and organizational skills; capable of processing large volumes of information and summarizing key points for decision-making.
•Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.
•Independent & Proactive Work Ethic: Self-motivated and capable of working independently with periodic guidance while demonstrating initiative and accountability.
•Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work seamlessly across departments and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
Location: NYC - onsite/hybrid
At Aspen Power, our work model includes three ways of working: virtual, in-person, and hybrid (a hybrid of in-person and virtual). On site strongly preferred.
Compensation Range:
The salary range for this position is: $75,000 - $85,000 plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
