- Leads, manages, and holds their team members accountable
- Manages a medium team’s budget
- Balances team’s growth goals with utilization metrics
- Plays an active role with Business Development (BD) to grow the team’s revenue and client base
- Leads relationship with existing clients and perspective clients as assigned
- Performs calculations and analysis of utility scale electric systems with some oversight
- Reads, interprets, and classifies technical documents and utility records with minimal direction
- Maintains proficient understanding and use of applicable software, tools, workflows, and procedures
- Identifies opportunities and potential solutions to improve established workflows and procedures
- Clearly articulates technical concepts to ask questions and discuss current assignments with engineers, project managers, and supervisors
- Plays an active role in the management of projects
- Applies technical knowledge to assignments and ensures projects meet specifications
- Understands project risks and communicates challenges about scope, cost, schedule and quality
- Leads the preparation of routine analysis or small portions of larger projects, including calculations and models
- Interacts with clients
- Understands and applies appropriate industry codes, standards, and regulations
- Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications are timely and in an appropriate format for the topics
- Identifies information to be communicated to the client and project stakeholders.
- Self-checks work assignments prior to submitting for review, completes work with minimal errors
- QAQCs others’ work
- Mentors young engineers, technicians, and interns in established workflows, procedures, and standards as well as help them to develop technical understanding within distribution planning.
- Leads and supports proposal activities
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university
- 8 years of related experience is required. Required experience may be reduced to 6 years for well qualified individuals with a Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred
- Knowledge of an engineering analysis software package such as
PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN, ETAP, TARA
- Proficiency of Enterprise Management Systems, such as Vantagepoint, and reporting systems, such as Power BI, is required
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C+, Python required- Strong work ethic with desire to work in an environment where discretionary engineering decisions are made
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time to support client and sales initiatives
- Maintains expertise in relevant areas of distribution planning
- Performs and directs others through highly complex calculations and analysis independently
- Comprehensive understanding and capability to direct others in the use of applicable software, tools, workflows, and procedures
- Guides and informs improvement to established workflows, procedures, and cross-functional process improvements
- Champions the development of new processes, policies, and standards

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university required
- An advanced degree preferred
- 15 years of related experience is required. Required experience may be reduced to 12 years for well qualified individuals with a Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Professional Engineering (PE) License required
- Knowledge of multiple engineering analysis software packages such as

- Experience with programming languages such as C, C+, Python required- Strong work ethic with desire to work in an environment where discretionary engineering decisions are made
- Maintains competency in relevant areas of transmission planning.
