What You’ll do as Truck & Trailer Technician:
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and repair truck and heavy trailer (jeeps, boosters, and 16-wheeler combos) issues
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- Order parts needed to repair and maintain trucks and trailers
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general cleaning duties in a workshop environment
- Maintain daily record of all work tasks and materials
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
- Journeyman Mechanic
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working on Peterbilt, Kenworth, Caterpillar, Cummings and Paccar Engines.
- Experienced and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy trucks and lowbed trailers.
- Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
- Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.
- Motivated, reliable and punctual self-starter.
- Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail.
- Willing to be based out of a yard service truck. Occasional short notice, out of town and/or weekend repairs required.
- A valid Class 1 driver’s licence and a clean drivers abstract is preferred but a Class 5 driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract would be accepted.
- Must be professional dealing with customers
