Wood is recruiting for a Deputy Document Control Team Lead to join its Oil, Gas & New Energies (OGNE) business focusing on document control, EDMS administration, and document management leadership across EPC projects. This opportunity is Hybrid.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced document control professional with extensive EPC project experience. You will support the Document Control Functional Manager while acting as the full designate in their absence, providing leadership, governance, and oversight for document control processes, teams, and systems across multiple projects.

- To support the Functional Manager of the Document Control team in all aspects of standard execution, whilst acting as full designate in Team leads absence. This includes:
- Manages and leads a document management team in accordance with organizational policies and objectives
- Provides direction and governance of document control processes, assuring compliance with the Company’s procedures and requirements in Document Control team and all assigned projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that document control is delivered to the assigned project(s) or program(s) to agreed standards.
- Responsible for management of company EDMS (FusionLive) within Canada project business unit; Acting as the EDMS Administration on all projects including setting up of new users, system configuration, system reporting and error resolution
- Supports and assures delivery excellence in document control across assigned area. Responsible for document control resources and governance of document control practices and procedures.
- Has oversight of the performance of all document control resources in their assigned project(s) or program(s).
- Leads by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company’s values and behaviors, and commitment to the highest standards of quality, safe and ethical behavior, to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.
- Prioritize workload, determines and secures future resource and capability requirements within the document control area to deliver current and future projects and recruit appropriately
- Manages and coordinates workshare with HVEC offices
- Supports Technical & Assurance as required – including a system of reviews and audits on projects
- Main focal point for resolution of all Document Control queries including providing knowledge and expertise in areas of contractual dispute in relation to documentation
- Creates and monitors Document Controls workflow and ensures timely processing of controlled documents and records, to meet specific clients’ requirements
- Supports business development bidding / proposal process
- Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and modify processes and procedures in Document Controls area accordingly

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline, or equivalent vocational/industry experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar document control role
- Strong experience with electronic document management systems and document control processes
- Advanced skills in FusionLive
- Advanced MS Office Suite skills
- Advanced skills in Adobe and DocuSign
- Experience supervising and managing teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and auditing experience (desirable)
- Understanding of project management principles and techniques
- Strong ability to build collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Experience with additional EDMS platforms
- EPC project execution experience
- Exposure to contract documentation requirements in major capital projects
