The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta’s interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta’s competitive wholesale electricity market. We are seeking a qualified Connection Process Analyst or Senior Connection Process Analyst to support and enhance the Regulatory and Transmission Services Team. This team is responsible for overseeing the AESO connection and system processes, including developing and maintaining process documentation, tools, and managing changes. The Regulatory and Transmission Services Team is also involved in implementing the ISO Tariff, as well as new or modified rules and regulations within relevant AESO processes, and providing regulatory, mapping, and cost support to connection and system projects.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for process development, change management, and cross-functional collaboration. The Connection Process Analyst has accountability in service areas such as process development & process mapping, implementing tools & templates, reporting, change management and training. The role is essential in driving the continuous improvement of the AESO Connection Process and will involve working closely with various teams, including project management, engineering, tariff, regulatory, and external stakeholders such as TFOs, DFOs, and market participants.
