Role Overview
We are seeking a Director to work closely with our Founders to define and build a team and capabilities to support clients, client briefings, and the foundational knowledge for our AI workers. The overall mission is to equip law firm partners and leaders with high-consequence, decision-ready strategic intelligence to help them:

We will be creating structured deliverables across law firm, client/sector, and opportunity frames. The Director will be responsible for durable asset building, creating workflows that accumulate reusable intelligence as well as integration into product capabilities to provide in-the-moment access to insights for partner and leader needs.

Key Responsibilities
Prioritization & Operations
•Set quarterly agenda in collaboration with Product and Knowledge
•Triage incoming asks and balance short-turn and deep asset work
•Ensure work of I&A team drives partner success in programs and product build
•Own and enforce workflows and KM protocols for intake, production, tagging, and refresh across all deliverables
•Design quarterly capacity plans and delivery SLAs
•Effectively integrate AI into work processes and team deliverables
Product Quality & Editorial Oversight
•Review and refine deliverables for narrative clarity, relevance, and factual integrity
•Elevate insights into stories with commercial consequence
•Coach analysts in tone, structure, and partner calibration
Team Development
•Build and run a lean, high-performing research and insights operation
•Grow team capability, enforce standards, and grow analyst range
•Coach analysts to improve quality, clarity, and commercial relevance
•Manage feedback and performance
Vendor & Procurement Oversight
•Manage all third-party research, data, and content subscriptions
•Handle procurement lifecycle: evaluate tools, negotiate contracts, ensure renewal timing and budget alignment
•Track usage and ROI across platforms (e.g., PitchBook, MergerMarket, AlphaSense, BoardEx, Chambers feeds)
•Ensure data security compliance and cost control
Stakeholder Management
•Serve as credible interface for rainmaker partners
•Conduct partner intelligence interviews
•Deliver commercial workshops
Ideal Candidate Profile
•10+ years in strategic insights, business intelligence, or market research roles in professional services, consulting, or financial services
•Has directly managed a multi-person research or insights function (or equivalent team in BD/strategy/intel) with live product cycles
•Proven track record managing research vendors and data subscriptions — understands license models, usage tracking, budget cycles
•Fluent in the logic of law firm economics, client buying behavior, and partner psychology
•Office 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams), SharePoint, Power BI; familiarity with legal industry data vendors a major plus
•Strong executive presence, high trustworthiness, editorial judgment, systems thinker
•Comfort operating in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, with a strong bias for action and problem-solving.
•High emotional intelligence, anticipating needs and navigating interpersonal dynamics.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex ideas for different audiences.
•Experience working across time zones and coordinating with remote teams.
•Technology fluency and an AI-native mindset to enhance productivity and decision-making.
•Experience managing relationships with senior leaders, customers, or investors.
