The ECM-OnBase Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, administration, and ongoing support of the OnBase by Hyland enterprise content management (ECM) platform. This role leads a team of six direct reports—a combination of analysts, developers, and administrators—overseeing hiring, recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluations, and professional development.
The ECM-OnBase Manager ensures the OnBase platform effectively supports business operations by managing system performance, workflow design, solution development, and user support. This role collaborates with business units to identify automation and process improvement opportunities, ensures compliance with regulatory and security standards, and aligns ECM initiatives with organizational goals and digital transformation strategies.
- Lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of OnBase solutions across business units.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify process automation, workflow, and document management opportunities.
- Establish and enforce ECM governance, policies, and best practices.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships, particularly with Hyland Software.
- Manage a team of six ECM professionals, including business analysts, developers, and system administrators.
- Lead hiring, recruiting, and onboarding of new team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and coaching to support growth and retention.
- Set clear performance goals, expectations, and development plans for direct reports.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Oversee daily operations and performance of the OnBase ECM platform.
- Ensure timely system maintenance, upgrades, and support issue resolution.
- Prioritize and manage ECM project pipeline, enhancements, and change controls.
- Maintain system availability, data integrity, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Ensure ECM operations comply with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
- Monitor security, implement access controls, and maintain audit trails in OnBase.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience with OnBase by Hyland, including at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead role.- Proven experience hiring, managing, and developing technical teams.
- Strong background in ECM, workflow automation, records management, and system integration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Nice to have Hyland OnBase certifications (OCSA, OCWA, OCSA).
- Familiarity with integration of ECM systems with ERP, CRM, or EMR platforms.
- Experience managing ECM in a regulated environment (e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, finance, government).
Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary/pay range for this role is $120,000-$150,000 annually CAD , commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
