Our Machine Operators are responsible for a variety of job tasks specific to a department or production area of the facility. In this role, you will work safely, in a team environment while partnering with other departments to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction with regards to the quality and timeliness of products and services.
- Sets up and operates fabrication machines, such as brake and punch presses.
- Creates and assembles metal work pieces.
- Follows specifications in job orders, verbal instructions, and blueprints.
- Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
- Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Team member must be able to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and freely use hands and arms to feel, touch, reach and grasp parts.
- Regularly lifts and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
A variety of Personal Protective Equipment is required in the facility including but not limited to safety shoes, hearing protection, eye protection and cut resistant gloves. This area is heated in cold weather conditions; however, not air conditioned for hot weather. Therefore, the employee is subjected to heat conditions as it relates to outside temperatures. This job requires the employee to move in and around a moving manufacturing line.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standard and metric measurements.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently.
