Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to apply a high level of technical service skills and knowledge of processes to manufacture, service and repair products and tools to required quality. Considered a technical subject matter expert in particular products or processes and provides instruction and guidance to trainees. Champions continuous improvement initiatives and actively contributes to and deploys plans for the new product introduction (NPI) process.
- Works autonomously to apply a wide range of technical service skills and processes to carry out manufacture, service and/or repair to products and tools.
- Operates all tools, machinery and equipment efficiently and safely to ensure satisfactory completion of assigned duties.
- Assists other departments with product availability, suitability and movement as required.
- Contributes to the development and update to any product manuals and documentation including SWIs and SWOs in conjunction with Engineering.
- Carries out equipment checks and ensures no instances of tools with expired calibration; advises Team Lead if equipment is not calibrated.
- Applies problem-solving skills to troubleshoot solutions to complex technical issues.
- Drives root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process-related issues.
- Identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness of work.
- Identifies, develops and sets up required jigs and fixtures to ensure continuous manufacturing efficiency.
- Delivery In Full On Time (DIFOT) is achieved.
- All work orders are fulfilled to 100% accuracy.
- Ensures all manufacturing, service and/or repair is carried out within defined turnaround KPIs.
- All equipment in use is calibrated.
- SWOs and SWIs are up to date and correct.
- Technical issues are resolved or escalated to Team Lead.
- All products are assembled timely and accurately, meeting expected efficiency rates.
- Deviations to production plans are communicated to Team Lead.
- All work undertaken by trainees is supervised and executed with technical accuracy.
- Trainees are taught all technical skills and processes as per training schedule.
- Provides expertise on challenging technical issues.
- ERP database is maintained up to date and contains accurate production information.
- High efficiency assembly of products including packing products or kits as required.
- Designs training schedule for new trainees, ensuring teaching on all technical service skills and processes.
- Provides instruction and direct supervision to trainees.
- Considered a subject matter expert and shares expertise with team members.
- Utilizes technology such as ERP to record parts replaced and service history logs.
- Supports the introduction of new or changed parts into the system as necessary.
- Actively contributes to the NPI process including designing jigs, processes and procedures ensuring efficient and effective transition from engineering into production.
- Contributes to the development and documentation of SWIs in conjunction with Engineering and QA.
- NPI documentation and processes support production, and production of new or changed parts is achieved efficiently.
- Follows all work instructions and training to ensure manufacturing, services and/or repair are performed to quality and compliance requirements.
- Applies knowledge of company policies and relevant codes of conduct.
- Complies with 6S rules and contributes to Lean Improvements culture.
- Supports and contributes to risk management activities including identifying and implementing risk-reduction measures.
- Oversees all manufacture, service and repair work conducted by trainees; completes in-progress quality checks.
- Records production data accurately, including timesheets and job duration.
- All inspections and audits are passed.

- Undertakes all QA processes and reporting on behalf of trainees and teaches trainees all QA requirements.
