The Catalyst Processing Lab Technician is responsible for the selection, processing, analysis, valuation and documentation of samples in the laboratory.
- Capture and edit pictures of materials, including, but not limited to converters, e-scrap, and automotive cores.
- Prepare, analyze and test samples of materials or products according to standard procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Categorize materials based on company standards.
- Organize and store all processed materials according to safety standards and company policy.
- Record all data and results in specified forms responsibly, timely and with accuracy.
- Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management.
- Clean and maintain equipment.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times, reporting any safety issues to supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Follow verbal and written instruction.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
- Perform quality control tests on ingredients, samples and completed products.
- Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products at specified intervals to ensure conformance to requirements.
- Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
- May require forklift training / certification.
- May require transporting material from our 2 Hensel Recyling locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or technical school, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills
- Experience in automotive cores preferred
- Catalytic converter knowledge a plusThere are occasional, frequent and continual phyical demands for this position. They include standing, walking, hand and finger dexterity, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, speaking, hearing and seeing. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 100+ lbs. Frequently required to lift/move up to 50+ lbs. And continually required to lift/move up to 20+ lbs.
There are occasional, frequent and continual things to expect for this position. They include working near mechanical parts, working in high places, exposure to fumes, dust, airborne particles, and/or toxic chemicals.
